Campgrounds In Glacier National Park

Glacier National Park in Montana, USA is known for its stunning alpine scenery, pristine lakes, and diverse wildlife. There are several campgrounds located within the park that offer visitors the chance to experience the beauty of the park while enjoying outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing, and wildlife watching. Here are some of the campgrounds in Glacier National Park:

  1. Apgar Campground: Located on the west side of the park, this campground is open year-round and has 194 campsites. It is located near Lake McDonald and has access to many hiking trails.
  2. Many Glacier Campground: Located on the east side of the park, this campground is open from mid-June to mid-September and has 109 campsites. It is situated near the Many Glacier Hotel and has access to hiking trails, boat tours, and horseback riding.
  3. Two Medicine Campground: Located on the east side of the park, this campground is open from mid-June to mid-September and has 99 campsites. It is situated near Two Medicine Lake and has access to hiking trails, boat tours, and fishing.
  4. St. Mary Campground: Located on the east side of the park, this campground is open from mid-May to mid-September and has 148 campsites. It is situated near St. Mary Lake and has access to hiking trails, boat tours, and fishing.
  5. Rising Sun Campground: Located on the east side of the park, this campground is open from late May to late September and has 84 campsites. It is situated near the Going-to-the-Sun Road and has access to hiking trails, boat tours, and fishing.
  6. Sprague Creek Campground: Located on the west side of the park, this campground is open from late May to late September and has 25 campsites. It is situated near Lake McDonald and has access to hiking trails and fishing.

Note that some campgrounds require reservations, while others are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Additionally, some campgrounds may have restrictions on RV or trailer size, and some may not have access to amenities such as showers or electrical hookups. It is important to check the park’s website or contact the park for specific details before planning a trip to Glacier National Park.
